Nokia N800 - I bought one and love it. The iPhone4 has almost caught up with its front camera and retina display but still lacks the N800s big screen, full-size SD card sockets (X2), normal USB connector and open applications. The big miss on the N800 was PIM applications.
My Palm Tungsten E has twice the processor speed of the 64MB SPARCStation 10 that I
used to assemble bits of the human genome, play Doom, and serve
files to an entire lab, but the E cannot even handle text, or display a
normal PDF without help from a Microsoft Windows PC! It also needs a
USB2 SD/MMC card reader to load and unload data because the USB
interface is designed to be so dumb.
sony ericsson phones - Developer pages so if you are sick of the misery of morons in phones4u or marketing speak in the phone brochures and you can read the invisibly small fonts, you can still find your way to some PDFs to discover out what at least the sony ericsson phones can do.
JBenchmark - How fast is the MIDP Java in your phone/PDA?
Contacts
and Addresses - Please will everyone support this Apple schema for
contacts also know as personal information management - PIM.
Portable code needs portable data and this is the best schema that I have seen.
Shopping
ebuyer - good for
computers but be prepared to fight if something is broken/missing
7dayshop - cameras,
batteries and photographic stuff cheaply from the Channel Islands
Maplin - Huge range of electronics and excellent service
